Our members are creating significant change within the Cape Fear Region and the surrounding communities. For us, being civic leaders means recognizing that local actions have global implications. It starts with providing leadership opportunities that harness women’s skills and passions for local impact. If you’re eager to develop civic leadership, refine your personal leadership skills, and collaborate on meaningful initiatives with a group of like-minded women, then the Junior League of Wilmington is the perfect organization for you!

What kind of local collaboration do you participate in?
- Our primary focus is on researching, identifying, and directly addressing issues that impact the population of the Cape Fear Region daily and require immediate action. We believe meaningful social change can be achieved by educating ourselves and the public, raising awareness of these issues, and supporting advocates through collaboration with local stakeholders.
- In the 2023-2024 League year, we partnered with over a dozen local nonprofits to host more than twenty volunteer opportunities for our members. These partnerships included the Diaper Bank of NC, Lower Cape Fear; 4th Trimester Mission; Paws Place; Girls on the Run; Cystic Fibrosis of Wilmington; Autism Society of North Carolina; Big Buddy Cape Fear; New Hanover Commission on Women; Maides Cemetery; Voyage-Wilmington; Good Shepherd Center; Operation Pretty Things; and Living Hope Day Center.
- We offer an annual grant opportunity to local nonprofits. Since 2023, we have awarded over $30,000 to local organizations to support their community efforts.
- Since our inception in 1952, we have contributed over $1,000,000 in charitable donations to support and establish numerous local nonprofits.
